Context
The aim of this workshop is to teach the skills for managing references within EndNote Online (the free version of EndNote). The course will not include the functionality of the desktop version (eg EndNote X9 or EndNote 20) but will focus on the functionality of Endnote Basic (free to all) and Endnote Online (available to HSE staff through Web of Science).
Audience
HSE staff and authorised users of the HSE Library Service.

2. How to import reference files and add references manually
3. Using folders to manage references: tips and tricks.
4. Collaborating within EndNote Online
5. Deduplication of references: tips and tricks

7. Using the “Cite While You Write” plug in to write your report/research

Programme
The session will include live demonstration and practical exercises covering all the learning outcomes above
- Understand what EndNote Online is - its functionalities and limitations
- Using folders to manage references: tips and tricks.
- Participants will create a folder
- Importing reference files and adding references manually
- Participants will import a RIS file into their folder
- Participants will manually create a reference
- Collaborating within EndNote Online
- Participants will share their folder with the Presenter and the Host
- Deduplication of references: tips and tricks
- Using EndNote Online to screen references for inclusion/exclusion
- Using the “Cite While You Write” plug in to write your report/research
- Participants will practice using “Cite While You Write”
Additional information
The training will be given in a one-hour session. It will be delivered online by two Librarians and include hands-on exercises.
Pre-course materials and requirements will be emailed to registered participants before the training. A feedback survey will be sent after the training together with a recording of the session
