The aim of this workshop is to provide an introduction to searching the PsycINFO database

Learning Outcomes

  1. Understand how to construct simple and more complex search strategies in the PsycINFO database
  2. Learn how to use the subject terms available in PsycINFO to increase the effectiveness of search strategies
  3. Understand some of the specific feature of the PsycINFO database including limiters and searching for Tests and measures
  4. Learn how to save and rerun search strategies and how to manage results.

11.10 - 11.30     Using subject terms in the PsycINFO database

11.30 - 11.50     Specific features available in the PsycINFO database

11.50 - 12.00     How to save and rerun search strategies. How to manage results.


The session will be followed up with an evaluation survey

Course requirements

Reliable internet access

Access to a PC/laptop and headphones. A mobile phone or tablet is not advised for this training
