Context

The training session will introduce the PubMed database which is a free online tool from the National Library of Medicine.

An overview of searching by keyword and subject term (MeSH), search techniques and saving results will be provided. 

Who should attend?

HSE Staff and authorised users of the HSE Library Service who are undertaking a literature review as part of an academic course, developing a PPPG or who want to learn how to search Pubmed.

Why you should attend

  1. Develop familiarity with accessing Pubmed
  2. Learn the differences between Pubmed and Medline
  3. Learn how to conduct a literature search in PubMed using MeSH terms, keywords and limiters
  4. Learn about useful search techniques such as truncation and phrase searching 
  5. Learn how to create an account on PubMed to manage searches and references.

Pre-course materials will be emailed to registered participants before the training. By registering you agree to receive a feedback survey following the training.
